Puppy Mill is a film that has been 2 and half years in the making. It explores the world of Amish dog breeders and those who oppose their existence. This is Jonathan Lawler’s first feature length documentary. His journey started with a misunderstanding at a speaking event that turned into him realizing that even his own misconceptions were shaped by a narrative that is driven by organizations that rely on vilification to drive donations to pay for ridiculous salaries and unnecessary overhead.
